'A business case for women' There is a school of thought that says 'we must develop a business case for women'. Typically, the implicit explanation is: 'Of course we want more women in top positions, but we don't see them there yet. So this means we have to make an investment with a potential downside. We cannot just assume that women have the required leadership skills.' Bypassing the fact that men regularly fail in top positions with no apparent need for a business case, and that this is always written off business as usual, we would like to point out that women with their business sense and other qualifications have proven to be able run organizations significantly better than many men. Diversity for an organization- especially
at the top - is of strategic importance and leads to improved performance.
