Starting on October 25th 2007, Woman Capital published eight weekly commentaries in the Dutch Financial newspaper. In each case the heading was a statement containing a perception about women in top business positions, followed by our own comments.

These perceptions (some negative, some positive) were all statements made to us by top executives whom we have met and spoken with in the course of our executive search practice.

By publishing these statements we hope encourage debate about what diversity really means - a mind-set perhaps - and fundamental consequences of embracing diversity.

Perception #1
    There is no glass ceiling

Perception #2
    We only go for quality

Perception #3
If women are really good they will prevail on their own

Perception #4
She is not one of us

Perception #5
    A business case for women

Perception #6
    There are no (qualified) women

Perception #7
Can't afford to experiment with women

Perception #8
    Wanted: Real men

Diversity for an organization- especially at the top - is of strategic importance and leads to improved performance.

Woman Capital helps companies achieve diversity.
