Woman Capital was founded in 2005 and has been able to help organisations implement diversity in their top management and Boards by building a network of eminently qualified women from every sector and every functional area of expertise. We believe our network to be by far the biggest and qualitatively the best in the country.
Hereunder are a few examples of the our many opportunities that have led to women’s appointments in top positions in Holland.
General Manager
Commercial Director
Three members of a non-executive Board
Sales Director for Benelux, Germany, Austria and Switzerland
Director of Human Resources
Member of the Non-executive Board
Chief Financial Officer
Supervisory Board member
Director Customer Service
Chief Operations Officer
General Manager
A listed temp company had searched for 8 months for a new general manager, without result.
Woman Capital was hired as a last resort, because they did not wish to limit themselves to female candidates. A week after the request to Woman Capital, we were able to put forward a number of candidates, one of whom was immediately recognized as a perfect fit for the position. She was appointed.
Commercial Director
One of the largest logistics companies in The Netherlands required an extremely qualified Commercial Director from outside the organisation. They assigned the search to two firms; one for the male candidates and Woman Capital to search for women for this position. From the combined list of candidates a woman was chosen and appointed.
Three members of a non-executive Board
The Works Council of an international bank- insurer wanted to exercise their right to nominate three candidates for positions on the non-executive Board. They did not specify that these should be women candidates. The requirement was for these potential Board members to have a keen insight in business and banking issues, and to be independent in their thinking.
Woman Capital found three women with these qualities; strong personalities that would, if necessary, challenge viewpoints in the Board discussions, but also able to connect and work well with the other members.
It was the first time that three women were simutanteously appointed to a non-executive Board.
Sales Director for Benelux, Germany, Austria and Switzerland
An American multinational with European Headquarters located in Holland needed a Sales Director to manage contract sales in six European markets in various stages of maturity. The best candidate was a woman who had all the capabilities and experience, but in a different sector. Her personality and drive, and the client’s ability to value those qualities and see her potential, clinched this successful appointment.
Director of Human Resources
Understanding that diversity begins at the top, the CEO of an insurance company had the intention to build a diverse executive team.
He had previously promoted one man and a younger woman from the internal organisation to his management team , but sought further balance in the form of another woman for the top HR position. The Woman Capital candidate brought the desired competences and complementary skills, and fitted well with the rest of the team.
Member of the Non-executive Board
A listed company sought a new Board member from one of European countries where they are market leader in their products for the construction industry.
Woman Capital was able to use her international networks to find a number of qualified candidates with both the required management and supervisory Board experience.
Chief Financial Officer for a recent start-up
A new telecommunications company was looking for a CFO who would be able to help the company realise their ambition for a stock exchange listing; a person with the experience and the authority to deal with outside parties involved in the process. At the same time the immediate need was for a person with a hands-on mentality, able to build a solid financial administration almost from scratch. Woman Capital found a candidate who was equally effective at high level strategy and tactics as in getting the daily execution organized and running efficiently.
Supervisory Board member
One of Holland’s biggest pension funds required a new Board member with a broad and deep background in investment management. Potential candidates could not be employed in a similar position, or at a financial institution or even as a consultant in this arena. Woman Capital found a candidate who had the many years of relevant experience as well as a great deal of Board experience. She became the only woman on the Board, and the only one with this essential expertise.
Director Customer Service
A well regarded insurance company was looking for a new Customer Services Director who would need to both reorganize and tackle a backlog of work as well as provide strategic direction for the department. Woman Capital was approached to ensure that there would be female candidates for the position. Woman Capital understood the need for both operational experience and strategic thinking and came up with the best candidate, and an excellent fit with the company.
Chief Operations Officer
A highly respected management training organization wanted to balance a their Management Board with a woman as COO, next to the men in the positions of the CEO and CFO. They decided to give Woman Capital the opportunity to put forward candidates; they were impressed by the presentation of the long list and did not look further. The process was enormously successful and the best candidate ultimately appointed.
